Renewable, Clean Energy please!
So, our PM has urged leaders in the industry leaders to come up with ingenious plans to increase the supply of oil. This along with the $135 barrell last Thursday (and a whole host of other stories), surely masks a bigger issue-we have to begin to switch to more sustainable forms of energy to power to our cars and homes.
Our natural ‘green’ resources (sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat) can surely be utilised more effectively. Each of these can be naturally replenished. The development of more solar, wind power, hydroelectric and biomass is essential as are biofuels for transportation.
Hopefully the current peak oil dilemma will bring these issues to the forefront of Public consciousness.
